Turner Construction is seeking Field Engineers for Albany & Buffalo offices. This position will begin in May/June 2024.

The Field Engineer will be assigned to the field operations team and will assist in obtaining, evaluating and coordinating all information needed to construct the project in accordance with the contract documents and to assure that the work meets all safety standards, is within schedule requirements, and is constructed to the highest level of quality possible.

Costich is growing their Survey Department by two persons; one would aid in field work and the other would assist indoors with processing, base mapping, boundary review, etc. Their firm recently obtained NYS WBE certification. Their surveyors use Leica TS06 fully robotic LEICA Geosystem instruments, Surveyor 2 data collectors running on the latest Carlson SurvCE software, and Carlson BRx6 Base and Rover Systems.

Experience: Minimum three (3) years experience as a Survey Crew Member/Chief with the ability to become a licensed Surveyor In Training (SIT) within a couple of years, with the goal of obtaining licensure as an New York Professional Land Surveyor (PLS); Education: Associates Degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field experience preferred; Location: Rochester, NY 14608

Anne Marie Sowder is a builder, researcher, and construction educator with specializations in construction management and urban resilience. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Construction Management and Civil Engineering and a Rinker Fellow at the College of Design, Construction, and Planning at the University of Florida. In addition to her faculty credentials, she has worked 15 years on a portfolio of Construction Management services including agency interface, client-side management, construction administration, contract writing and award, hiring, project estimating and budgeting, scheduling, team development, and training. Research interests include construction history and storm resilient building - using mapping, reality capture, and HBIM to visualize and analyze projects.
