In the Trend Forecasting & Social Media course, students were responsible for creating recycled garments for the Fashion show at the New York College of Technology. We dove deep into predictive modeling, creating an interactive dashboard that could forecast emerging trends before they hit the mainstream. The course challenged me to think beyond traditional marketing by helping me understand how data can predict and shape consumer behavior. My team’s recycled garment collection showcased the intersection of sustainability and fashion trends, using social media analytics to inform our design choices. We analyzed current fashion hashtags, influencer content, and consumer sentiment to create garments that reflected emerging eco-friendly fashion movements. The fashion show became a powerful demonstration of how data-driven insights can drive creative and sustainable design solutions.
