    • Set up the title block
      • All labels to use architectural letting
    • Using your floor plans and the dimensions given, complete your building section and north / south elevations
    • For extra credit, provide one additional section or two additional elevations
    • All drawings 1/4″ = 1′-0″

Activities

  • Battery Park City Presentation
  • Group research + development for Assignment 3: Urban Design
    • Each group should work together to:
      • Research the history of the site
        • Why was it built?
        • Who designed it?
        • What was there before?
      • Use Google maps to understand the location and context
        • Where is it?
        • What’s around it?
      • Find plans + images
      • Divide up the presentation topics
      • Set up a slide template for your presentation (I recommend Google slides for simple coordination, though the format is up to you)
  • By the end of class each group will review their progress with the professor

To-Do After Class

  • Visit your site
    • Observe and document the area (photos, sketches, notes)
      • Note that all photographs used in your presentation should be your own
      • Plans, diagrams, and historical images can be pulled from other sources
    • Pay close attention to the specific topics noted in the assignment (buildings, massing vs space, public spaces, infrastructure)
    • Collect all of this information and begin to prepare your draft presentation for review
