Language has always been a form of communication, studying semiotics it is clear to say that signs are a form or language which was created with the help of society and how humans have taken and interpreted certain structures in different ways. According to This means this, this means that: A users guide to Semiotics” by Hall Sean. “Signs are not isolated; they are dependent for their meaning on the structures that help to organize them, along with the contexts in which they are read and understood. The ideas and different perspectives that have been created for certain images or objects have been determined by humans and experiences. Sean gave an example of a Stop sign, which can either mean “Danger” or an actual “bus stop”. Color can have an influence based on cultural structures that have been built upon society. Therefore a red stop sign would be to actually stop and be cautious and a yellow stop with an icon of a bus can signify bus stops here. Signs have been a more simplified way of communicating with a background of knowledge already known by a human being. This form of language has positively impacted design since it’s been a faster and easier way to communicate to the public.
