Now a days photography is consider as an easy way to save their memories in no time, people takes pictures of what they think is funny, strange, interesting and memorable.We take pictures/selfies as a tool to convey message, feeling , emotions and mood, like we can just tell how someone live by just looking at hie/her picture. Unlike before when there was no cell phones or some professional cameras and we can’t take pictures its was kind of boring to read news paper/books as compare to now, as if we just look at the picture in a book we can assume what author might going to tell in this story. As someone said an image can say thousand words. Now a days selfies became a trend on social media, some people post selfies on daily basis, some post on weekly and some on monthly. Some people take selfies for future to see the change in themselves. As most of us have a picture of our child hood and we compares it with our recent pictures.
To me Cindy Sherman is an artist that faced her attention to social media platform “Instagram” where she exposed her true beauty to the world which is shown by the deceptions of selfies she smudge her skin with corrective balms, zap moles and wrinkles, and reshaped her heads as if they were made of Plasticine.She showed the stereotypical view of women in the 1970’s to 1990’s. I think she had a very unique way of expressing her self and all the experience she had earlier through her Instagram account and she broke the social norm in our society where her appearance was from herself only.
