Pyschiatric Nursing 
was a challenge for me initially. I did not realize how much media and public stigmatization of the mentally ill had affected my perception of this population. I had clinical at Bellevue Hospital. I expected to see belligerent, violent patients, but this was not the case. This rotation dispelled many of the myths I had heard about the mentally ill.
Nursing has its way of broadening your horizon, forcing you to grow as a person.
