Video Project _ Carl Cabrall

This video represents summarized version of my recent photography project in which I photographed various statues and monuments and sculptures in Brooklyn and Manhattan. New York City is believed by many to be the most cosmopolitan city on the planet. Arguably, every nationality and culture is most likely represented here. With this being said, the statues monuments and sculptures around the city represent the cultural Journey of our ancestors, their struggles, their strengths, their battles, wars fought and the victories one. What was equally as interesting were the various ways in which the general public showed their enjoyment for the spaces in which these relics of the past occupy. I was able to photograph extensively, the massive installation of statues at grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn. The next leg of my photography took me deep inside of Prospect Park where an extremely extensive collection of beautiful statues exist ‘sweetly’ nestled in lush green gardens. Lastly, my journey took me to Battery Park Lower Manhattan to photograph the Statue of Liberty, and The East Coast Memorial. The most massive and impressive eagle sculpture I have ever seen anywhere, is the focal point of this memorial installation. Its purpose is to commemorate the sacrifice of over 4600 men who died in battle in the western waters of the Western Atlantic ocean during World War II. Over all, I took at least 400 pictures. I hope you enjoy these selections.
