Each week you will need to respond to two questions posted. Your response should be a minimum of 300 words for both questions. You should also include at least one response to your fellow students. The responses are a requirement for participation part of your grade.
Question 01 –
What elements or features of Illustrator and Photoshop will you begin to use in your artwork?
Question 02 –
What was the best part of this class for you?
The features that stuck out the most to me in this class and I would use a lot for my artwork would have to be the healing brush tool, and object selection tool. The reason because those two tools are pretty much simple to use but can also be used for so many things. You can also be very creative using these tools. Like how for the Object Selection Tool you can pick any character or object from another image and move it to a different image. Then you can edit it however you want with other tools, which is why I like the tool very much and it can be fun. Now for the healing brush tool you can restore any damage image or any imperfection on someone face, body, or whatever that seem physically wrong in the image you are working on. Which honestly seem cool to me.
The best part of today class for me is after presenting our Alter Ego, was putting our alter ego project in a poster format and giving it a title and description. Which was something Im mostly comfortable with and enjoy doing. Basically adding on to our projects is what was the best part of this class. Also the lessons and learning new tools and tricks is what I enjoy the most and how we learn it step by step.
Thanks Tyheim, I’m glad you have something that will stick with you from the course. Good luck, and have a great summer.
Some features of illustrator that I will begin to use in the future, would be more of the Pen tool. As I find that the pen tool can come in handy with various projects, it’s best to understand how to click/drag/operate the pen tool correctly. The best part of this class for me, was learning how to use different parts of illustrator and photoshop. I enjoy how easy it is to use illustrator and I enjoyed learning how to use photoshop, as this was my first time learning how to use it. I also enjoyed the Disney project we had as well, as it brought my inner child happiness.
Jewel, I’m glad you were able to gather some skills from the semester. Unfortunately we have to rush through both programs and only graze the surface of their capabilities. Keep practicing.
Good luck and have a great summer!
Hey Enson! I also enjoyed learning about Photoshop because I have never really used it before. I found it pretty challenging to navigate but this class gave us insight into specific tools like the Magical Wand tool, Lasso tool, Burn/Dodge tools, and more to help us navigate the program with ease, now we get to play around with it for personal use!
Lightroom is a great tool and very powerful for photographers, but knowing how to edit photos with Photoshop adds a bit extra. As a photographer I use both applications extensively.
Good luck, and have a great summer!
Throughout the course, I had the opportunity to delve deeply into both Illustrator and Photoshop. It was my first immersive experience with both software, allowing me to explore and familiarize myself with a wide array of tools. In Illustrator, I found myself drawn to the layers, pen, and curvature tools, while in Photoshop, I enjoyed using layer masks, the burn/dodge tools, and the magic wand tool. Illustrator, in particular, captivated me with its fascinating curvature and pen tools, which I discovered to be incredibly versatile. With practice, I foresee myself mastering these tools to craft precise shapes and lines, whether it’s for tracing or recreating raster graphics.
The highlight of the class undoubtedly was the projects. Despite being time-consuming, they were immensely enjoyable. I appreciated how seamlessly the skills we acquired in class could be applied to the projects, creating an interactive and engaging learning experience.
Kayla, I’m glad to see that you were able to gather so much from the semester. Both Illustrator and Photoshop are so packed with features, I regret that we have to rush through them both. But with experience and practice you will master them both.
Good luck and have a great summer!
