1 – Alter Ego Poster
Last week we review the alter ego projects and discussed the next step, which we began in class. The instructions are as follows:
- Go back and read the directions for the alter ego assignment. Make sure you followed the directions, including writing your backstory and creating a logo or title for that personality.
- After reviewing your alter ego image make any corrections or adjustments that need to be made.
- Save the image as a print-ready file and save a copy as a web-ready file. We reviewed this on class. If you missed that demo, you can find a tutorial on YouTube.
- Once your file is revised, place it in InDesign to create a final poster. The size of the poster will be 11×14. In class we reviewed how to create a new file in InDesign, add a photo and type. If you missed that demo, you can find a tutorial on YouTube.
- Add a few lines of your “back story” to the poster along with the logo/title.
- Save the file with the following name: 14_Lastname_AlterEgoPoster. PDF
- Save this file in a folder along with your finished web-ready image.
- Package the file so that all of your elements are saved to one folder.
- Upload your finished work to Google Drive.
2 – Digital Photo of Yourself
Bring a selfie image of yourself or have someone take a photo of you. It should be a headshot, which is head and shoulders only. We will work on this in class on the Wednesday.
3 – All Missing Homework and In-Class Assignments
As previously mentioned, everything done in class is important. Anything that is missing can’t be counted toward your grade.
- Have you answered all of the Discussion questions? If not, now is the time to get those done. They add into your grade for class participation.
- Have you submitted all the in-class work? If not, now is the time to get those done. They add into your grade.
- Have you submitted all of the projects and homework assignments? If not, now is the time to get those done. They add into your grade. It is difficult to pass this course if the main projects aren’t completed. The main projects are:
- Mid-Term Project – the Disney Poster
- Final Project – the Alter Ego image and poster
- the Composite (big part of homework projects)
- the Vector Self Portrait which we will do on the last day of class (big part of class participation and added to help boost )
Anything outstanding must be submitted by Saturday, May 20th by 11:59 pm.
How is the Work Weighted?
As stated in the syllabus:

- 20% Midterm Project
- 30% Homework Projects
- 20% Final Project
