Today, we will discuss using Photoshop and Illustrator files in InDesign.

  • How the files are prepared to use for printing
  • How the files are prepared to use for the web

By dragging guides in the file you can see the print area of your work.

Critique

Each week we will review homework assignments from the previous class. Students will display their “Alter Ego” Posters. The class will discuss the value of Masking Techniques.

Lab

Lab assignments are done during class time.

  • After reviewing your alter ego image make any corrections or adjustments that need to be made.
  • Once your file is revised, prepare it to be use in InDesign to create a final poster. Save the file as a print-ready file.
  • Also save a copy of the file as a web-ready file.
  • Add a few lines of your “back story” to the poster along with a title.
  • Save the file with the following name: 14_Lastname_AlterEgoPoster. PDF
  • Save this file in a folder along with your finished web-ready image.
  • Package the file so that all of your elements are saved to one folder.
  • Upload your finished work to Google Drive.

Discussion

Each week you will need to respond to two questions posted. This is a requirement for participation part of your grade.

Homework Due Next Class

All work should be submitted by 11:30pm the day before class.

Any work that you want to resubmit should be prepared. Name that file with the correct name from the week that it was due and add “_REVISED” at the end.
