Topic

Colorizing and Loading Selections in PS

Today, we will discuss loading Selections and Colorizing in Photoshop. 

After isolating Black Lines, new layers can be created to paint on independently using various brushes techniques.

Critique

Each week we will review homework assignments from the previous class. Students will participate in reviewing material and offering suggestions for improvement for their cohort. Students will present their composite project. Save it as a layered native .psd file.

Lab

Lab assignments are done during class time.

  • Practice Loading the Selection to isolate “black Lines” on an individual layer in the files provided.

Discussion:

Each week you will need to respond to two questions posted. This is a requirement for participation part of your grade.

Homework Due Next Class: 

All work should be submitted by 11:30pm the day before class.

When this is finished, save the file cording to the following naming convention: 11_LastName_coloring.psd (Photoshop with layers).

  • Create your own hand drawing using a pad and pencil or pen. Scan it or photograph it to create digital version. Use the brush techniques from today’s lesson to colorize your drawing on a seperate layer or layers. Use brush techniques to create shadows and highlights with brush settings.
