Become familiar with file formats listed in Tables 2.1 and 2.2. the Common Type of Bitmap or Pixel-Based Images and the Common File Types of Vector Graphics. There are review questions at the end of each chapter and you are to review these questions to prepare for your quiz. You will likely see versions of these questions on your quiz.
It is NEVER wise to miss a quiz even if you haven’t fully prepared for it as you will get a feel for what my quizzes are like and this will help you prepare for the next quiz. I will do a brief Q & A before we begin the quiz. The quiz will be taken right after the short Q & A session. Please be prompt to class or you will miss the Q & A. Q & A just means a short question and answer session.
- Projects/ Visually Enhanced Quotation
For Feb 21st, you should have worked on revising and improving your 2 concept sketches for the visual quote project. It is is preferred that you do this project in InDesign. If you’ve already done it in Photoshop I will accept it this time, but you should get used to using InDesign. At this point, the quote projects should be placed onto the computer into Indesign. They should be done in Indesign and exported to a PDF and placed into the drop box in Blackboard. There will then be a separate Blackboard drop box for PDFs of each quote concept exported from Indesign. Your visual quote project will be designed for a print postcard and should be 8.5” X 5.47”. It can be designed either landscape or portrait but be sure to design your concepts with this trim size in mind.
Be sure to set up your document to the size specified in Indesign. See this site for specific instructions on how to create the PDF files from Indesign. If you are not familiar with Indesign, see the free tutorials on Adobe programs at http://tv.adobe.com and http://www.lynda.com/home/freeTraining.aspx.
