The community I consider myself a part of is electrical field. The reason why I feel that i belong to this community is because my major teaches me about this field and there is definitely a professional language that we learn time by time to make a lot of things simple and easier for us. We employ a variety of written and oral communication methods to fulfill our goals of bettering the rights of people who are in electrical field around the world. Since my major is electrical engineering technology,Β Β electrical engineering is a field that is always developing and improving, members of the community must keep up with current work by others in order to stay on top of new inventions in the field. The electrical engineers use mathematic models, various sorts of algorithms, and electronic simulations to try to improve on the concepts offered by other engineers. And all this takes place with the help of each other. We go over lab reports and theories of other members who are in the community to keep up with the field. When I was some beginner major classes, some senior students was there and they would use some words that would go over top of my head. Like, βthe circuit is shortβ means there is a breakage between the copper which is not letting the current flow. Another one was βbuild a bridgeβ which means take a piece of wire and solder it on the both sides of copper to fix the broken path. Our community highly depends on sharing group work and for that we use programs like multisim, autocad and Matlab. If we have to design a project which includes a lot of wiring and components, we as a group use these programs to make the project first to see if it can actually simulate and then we proceed to construct the project after satisfying the voltage, current, resistance and components needed for the project. After taking decent amount of major classes, now I can confidently say that I feel comfortable in my community especially when I am around the members of this community who communicate in the same language that I was struggling to learn at first. It was exciting to learn these terms because they were strange to me at first but not anymore.Β

Good choice. Definitely a professional discourse system like the one Klass writes about.
