    3. Dehydration/condensation reactions/polymers
  3. Carbohydrates
    1. Basic structure and isomers
    2. Redox reactions and theory of reducing sugars
    3. Test for reducing sugars using Benedict’s reagent
      • Have students work through making predictions using the table
    4. Iodine test for starch
      • Have students work through making predictions using the table
    5. Review the test results and the predictions

    1. Introduction to diversity of lipids and their function
    2. Review stereochemistry and the definition of saturated, unsaturated and trans fats
