I’ve created a Handout in PDF that you can download and use when reading and listening to the various resources I’ve provided on Color. It has questions that you should be able to answer after completing your readings. We will be discussing these questions in the next two weeks.
To Read and To Listen
• Complete listening to the RadioLab Podcast Ripping the Rainbow a New One-We completed this.
- Read Chapter 5 Color Theory and Basic Shapes-Do some of the exercise in this chapter.
- Read the freely available Look Inside pages of Josef Alber’s classic book, The Interaction of Color.
• Read the Look Inside pages of Karissa St Clair’s book The Secret Lives of Color
• Read this article on Color Space within Adobe Photoshop
• Review the Color Science Chapter from the Open Textbook Graphic Design and Print Production Fundamentals discussed during class
To Do and Submit
- Complete the Chapter 5 from the textbook and submit to the drop box for today’s homework.
2. Come up with a theme for a poster. Show me a draft (sketch next week). It can be a poster about something you are passionate about similar to the posters on the Announcement page. It could be an advertisement of a product that relates to you or your business. It should have graphics, pictures, etc. besides text.
