This may be an old process that is from the Civil War ear, but to many new photographers it is something they have never saw before. Many photographers today only experience taking pictures from a digital camera. They have never been able to use something that is not digital and then develop the photo. We all hear about the process, but we are never able to have some hands on experience. In this century we mostly take pictures in color so we are not able to see how it is like with black and white, without using one of those filters. Being able to produce a picture in just black and white without using a filter gives a different feeling. It is also a new experience for many. Having a picture produced with the old style effect gives off a different feel then from a picture that uses filter. The edges of the photos are different and the texture is different.
