Our first class was great! I really enjoyed hearing about everybody’s background and their journeys to where we are now. I got a basic understanding of what we will be learning about this semester, but I’m sure there’s much more that we don’t know about yet. I liked the kahoot quiz and I’m looking forward to more. Overall an amazing first class and I can’t wait to see what else is planned.

Hi! my name is Latifa Shamsuddin. I choose architecture because of creativity. When I was little, I saw long building and i dreamed, one day create long building or something different. My hobby is drawing, sewing,watching etc. My first class was great cause i meet with my new professor and my classmates. The interesting thing is khahoot quize, yeah did lower but learned from my mistake.
Hello, my name is Llalen Cruzat. The activity that we did on Miro was very interesting, it is a very unique and creative way to start the class. Kahoot quiz was also really nice. I look forward to know more about my classmates, professor and to know more about this class in the following weeks.
Yes, I do agree that Miro is so interesting and can help us discuss and see other students’ work as we were in the class. Also, I like the Kahoot quiz too because you need to focus and has a lot of activity and competition between all of us!
Our first class together was quite interesting. Meeting everyone virtually would usually be quite challenging, however breaking off into pairs made learning about each other much more intimate and I believe effective. Knowing that you’re going to introduce someone else beforehand sort of forces you to stay focused, and to make sure you present them as they’d like to be seen by their peers. I enjoyed playing Kahoot the most because it gave me a better insight of what we’ll be learning in this course and it revealed how much prior knowledge I actually have.
Hello, I’m Brandon. Our first class was overall a nice start to this semester. The activity on miro was a different and innovative approach to class introductions on virtual learning. I got a good feel of how the class will flow and I hope that everyone makes the most the can out of this semester.
Our first class meeting gave some hint about what might we study during this course and I found it was interesting. I really love of have some understanding the building elements and how it became stable and hold a lot of loads.
Finally, I’m really exited for this course!!
Overall our first class was a positive experience for me, breaking the ice and getting to meet everyone through the ”Miro” website was not only interesting but also a lot of fun.
Starting a new class in an online setting can be an intimidating and challenging experience for all people involved, especially when you are not particularly used to video chat, I fell like this is the biggest concern for me as I highly prefer the traditional ”face to face” class.
Looking forward, during the class I realized that there’s a lot of ”architectural terms” that I’m not even close to understanding, one of my main goals to the end of the semester is to familiarize myself with all these complicated words that I still don’t understand.
Whatever is yet in the future, I remain excited to know more about my classmates, my professor, and what this semester will bring.
Hi, I’m Valeria. I think that our first class went really great, I really enjoyed the icebreaker activity we did in Miro and hearing about everybody’s backgrounds and noticing how some of us have similarities. Even though we met each other virtually, it didn’t feel like it and it wasn’t awkward at all. We all got some basic information about what will be discussed and learnt throughout this course. I also loved the Kahoot activity we had, I thought it was different but good different. I’m excited for this course!
