Objectives

  • Understand and apply the theory and formula for counting the number of distinct subsets of a given size taken from a given set (the binomial coefficient).
  • Understand and apply the structure of binomial coefficients as demonstrated in Pascal’s Triangle.
  • Apply the binomial coefficient to the expansion of binomial expressions raised to powers.
