This is a bit old, but I found it very interesting. Does Rehabilitation end with counseling ? Norway has found another method that has shown to be very effective.

  1. Tertiary care consist of rehabilitating inmates. There are those with the criminal mind and cannot even think of a change in their lifestyle, but there are some individuals who make a decision to NEVER go back to jail and act accordingly. I have always believed that the prison system has failed because there should be a lot more individuals wanting a change of lifestyle. As a human service worker I would advocate for change toward the system as a whole. As Dr. Angela Davis has always advocated against imprisonment, I can only hope to be as strong an advocate as her on such vital issues. Given that prisons are basically big business, which does make money, I doubt very seriously that things will change any time soon.
