Ohio school shooting gunman appeals life sentence
Lane was 17 when he shot three students in a high school cafeteria. He did not receive the death penalty because he was a juvenile. The photo of him is pretty interesting because he smirks while listening to the judge during his sentencing. Also, he wore a white T-Shirt and wrote “killer” across his body to the court. He did not show any lack of remorse or guilt to the three victims like the Ice Man. The investigators stated that Lane “didn’t know why he did it” which is related to his unconscious mind. What do you think? In the human service field, I hope Lane received mental health treatment during prison, such as therapy, counseling, and medication. However, it is hard for mentally ill to receive an appropriate treatment because of taxpayers and money issue. What do you think?
Perhaps, he can be a psychopath because he smirked while listening to the judge sentencing him. I believe that he should be evaluated because he may have a mental illness, however he may not have a mental illness and maybe just acting like a teenager and following what other teenagers are doing. From a human services perspective, I believe he should first be evaluated for a mental illness then from there they should see what happens.
He killed innocent people so he should get life in prison without parole. Maybe he wants the judge to think he has a mental illness so he could get sent to a mental institution but deep down inside he is really a psychopathic maniac.
