- Team-Led Discussion on the reading –Early Medieval by Christopher and Alexis
- In-class Notebook assignment — look closely at slides 18-20 in the Week 10 PowerPoint. Practice your observation and analysis skills, and write a paragraph comparing and contrasting the two interior spaces:
- what is similar?
- what is different?
- what is your experience of each space?
- what specific architectural features contribute to your experience?
- Fun reading (article from yesterday’s NY Times), on the Camino de Santiago, the road that pilgrims began taking in the 9th century AD in order to visit the legendary tomb of the Apostle James at Santiago de Compostela. We will be looking at churches built along those routes through Europe at the time, know as “pilgrimage churches.”
