Concept Sketches
My article is about “HOW FACEBOOK MAKES US UNHAPPY”, from the newyorker.com. For my sketches I was trying to do a combination of a Sea animal (the octopus) and a person. In my #1 and #2 sketch facebook is like the octopus, taking people happiness. Also, for my #3 sketch I had a different idea, that shows how facebook is a prison for all the users of facebook.

Society of Illustrators
On February 21st, we went to the Society of Illustrators. There, we saw a lot of illustrations and hand drawing work. One of the illustrations that caught my attention is the “Extinction” by the Californian artist and illustrator Jon Han. This colored pencil and digital art work demonstrate how we can do something simple and make it incredible. For some people illustrations need to have bright colors and perfect lines but, for me I like messy art work. What I like about Han’s work is how each line it’s forming a different creature. The colors and the different shapes are really well composed. It doesn’t give me that zoo vibe that you see in other people’s work. This one give me more like a wild vibe; where animals show different ability to survive in the jungle.
