Concept Sketches

With all the hype surrounding the latest and greatest smartphone, I thought it would be ideal to depict the long time battle between Samsung users and Apple users.

In the latest round of What the Trump, our president has launched missiles into a Syrian base in order to “police the actions against the Syrian citizens”, and apparently Clinton had called for the same action just hours prior.

  1. Klever-

Nice work on these editorial sketches.

All 3 ideas have potential… But all have issues of being very literal or requiring dialogue or symbols to work.
1: long time battle between Samsung users and Apple users : THis could be cool… but its not unique yet. Either the phones need to be the main focus or the users… you could have Kaiju Phone battle… or it could be more like humans fighting beetles or roosters… or maybe more like a wrestling bout? GO on a BIG TIME REFERENCE hunt. See what ideas and sketches result.

2- “police the actions against the Syrian citizens”
This isn’t an editorial illustration… its just a picture of Trump belittling Clinton AGAIN… and seeing like an idiot in the process. Theres no visual metaphor or unique voice. …Though I do get the urge to draw this.

3: Refernecing the same article, I put in the references of Trump constantly referring to his actions as “hugeeeee”

Ok… this has some potential… but #1 USA should be on the Left, or WEST side of the paper. missile going east. However, This is requiring dialogue and captions to be read… which means the idea is not clear. If you can make it work without the captions, I’ll take a look but I think your best bet is #1.

Don’t be too literal. Focus on Clarity of Concept and strong Metaphor.
    Good work!
