Blog #10

For this week’s blog, I would like to talk about some of the apps and programs that I use every day. The first program I would like to talk about is Canva, is a graphic design platform, used to create social media graphics, presentations, posters, documents, and other visual content. It is very user-friendly and the good part is that it’s 100% free though it does have a pro version that you could pay a monthly subscription to. The reason I use Canva is to create contents that engage my targeted prospects which is often the hardest part of an effective content marketing campaign. Canva enables you to create that content quickly and easily, even if you have little to no graphic design skills and have more than hundreds of thousands of templates you can choose from for your design.

The next app I will be talking about is FlipaClip it is a mobile app where you can download on your phone or on your tablet. It is a free app that allows you to animate your Imagination and bring them to life! FlipaClip’s video animation tools make frame-by-frame animation fun and easy which is similar to Adobe Animate though it does lack in some of its advanced features that Adobe Animate offers. This app helps you create a cartoon, make movie animations, and design unique and exciting animations. After creating the animation you are able to share it on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and other popular platforms, and search for FlipaClip animations to get inspired. Whether you’re making movies, sketching, storyboarding, animating, or learning, FlipaClip provides the best drawing and animating experience. With this app, beginners are able to animate cartoons is in their hands with simple and intuitive controls that are easy to learn and powerful enough to bring their ideas to life.

I was able to land an internship with NYPIRG thanks to Professor Goetz, we talked through zoom about refining my resume and my portfolio. It was a great experience, I was able to meet Gabrielle who will be my Internship Supervisor. When the interview started it was a one on one session where we used Google meet to discuss what I would be doing at NYPIRG and the work experience that I would learn. NYPIRG is a student-run, nonpartisan, not for profit, activist group that runs across seventeen SUNY, CUNY, and private schools in New York State.
