Last day at BHS

The last day at the Brooklyn Historical Society was bitter sweet. the reason being is because I enjoyed getting to know the history behind Brooklyn. The last visit I got to see a letter and menu from an old hotel “The Towers Hotel located on Clark st. The letter was trying to convince Thomas Smith to have a luncheon celebrating the demolition of the Fulton street elevated structure. At the back of the letter was a menu showing all the food that they offered at the hotel. What stood out to me was the the food that was on the menu, because they had very weird names that you would not see today and the prices. The prices were very cheap to me but I’m sure that was not the case back then. The last day was actually my favorite I had fun, we got to spend a lot of time looking at the documents. Looking at the maps the previous visit was also interesting, you got to see a overview of Brooklyn throughout the years. BHS has a lot to offer and many people should go there to learn about Brooklyn.
