Unit 3 Proposal

I’d like to teach my audience the psychological effect that social media is having on us as a population. Also, how it can impact your brain while you are growing up. I want to go over the positives and negatives of social media and being on them constantly or all day. Its something we all have access to so I believe the audience can relate to it. I want my message to appeal to an audience of people around my age. We are all practically glued to our phones and its important to know if its even good for us in the long term. The genre which applies to this is nonfiction and informational. Id put the writing out on a social media post and websites. I believe that through the internet, it’s the best possible way of conveying the message and facts. I would get started by reading my unit 2 and refreshing myself on my topic. I’d also dive deeper into the topic and see if I can learn anything further than what I already know. My concern is that it won’t be fun for other people to read. Also, im worried that it won’t come out to what I imagine it being, it could be worse in the end. I want to write an outline so it can guide and help me.

10/11 Writing Excercise

  1. Something I was always interested in as a kid was technology. I am still actively invested in technology and love learning about it. I believe that it is the future and like today, most things will need it one way or another. Asking questions let me dive into the topic deeper, get a better understanding of it and gave me experience in it.
  2.  My curiosity has gotten bigger over the years. I have learned more and more things. It is endless as there are so many different paths you can research in the technology field. The educational system did not play a role in my curiosity because it never has given me a lesson on it. I have never learned how to code or setup a computer in my classes, or how they even originated.
  3. I have not lost interest in this topic, and I do not believe I will. I can always learn something new and apply it to my work. There are so many different specialties you can get into.

HW 10.11.22

I believe James Baldwin was trying to visualize to the reader that the world is vaster than what It seems to us. The world is larger basically means we haven’t explored many parts of it yet and its basically impossible to imagine in our head the true scale of the earth we live on. We haven’t explored most of the ocean and there is a lot unknown of our existence, but this also brings on the beauty in life and, the terrible things too. The universe is infinitely large, and we are to small to comprehend the true scale of things. We will never truly be able to do everything in this world because there are many different activities, foods, and even places. By “necessity” he means that the person is free to-do most things on their own in their life and that they can research, examine, look into anything their mind tells them to, rather than listening to the current administration In place and any policy, news, or laws they put out. There isn’t a limit to your thinking. I wish in school they taught us more about how important things in our society function such as, credit, banking, taxes, and loans. I wish I knew about these topics because it would’ve gotten me ready and more experienced in the real world. It’s better to investigate topics yourself and gain real first-hand experience because it will teach you a lot about life. Researching things will give you a better introspective and give you a larger perspective on things.
