BP 11 – Khalil Issa

The story “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale”, follows a man named Douglas Quail, who makes a living working a menial Office job but has always had a dream to travel to Mars. Do to the lack of money and  his wife not having his best interest and showing discouragement makes that kinda impossible for him. Luckily he finds Rekal company, who can give him want we wants and ease his wife and that’s making Douglas believe he has traveled to mars by implant.

Although the twist is one those flare memories are implanted they resurface real one they laid dormant for n his mind, he had already traveled to mars as a secret agent. In addition to working as an agent he was also an assassin who assassinated a political opponent of the government, this very reason is why his memories were erased or suppressed really. Once the people who provided those fake memories realize what showers they give him two choices get killed or have those real memories removed by removing his implants  and have new one implanted or be killed. He goes with the first choice this time having childhood dream of encountering aliens who land on earth who plant to take it over, but his kind attitude words them makes them. Reconsidered saving the planet. This too, also ends up being another suppressed memory of Quails.

The way I can see this story continuing from this point would be whether or not this would be a memory the goverment wants Douglas to remember. In one direction they could repeat the same with lan giving him alternative, kill him or replace it with a different memory (hopefully that isn’t real), or just cut the entire operation altogether. The second direction would be they are not threatened by this memory and they allow him to live his life with them. Personally in my opinion, if the drama is to continue they would have to have a problem with it but this  time Quail doesn’t want to lose anymore memories especially from his childhood and as big as this one and instead prepares to defend himself against the government so he doesn’t lose who he truly is.

Decent summary and despite few syntax errors I liked the way you conveyed what you think is best for him in the aftermath of the story by switching the way you wrote the post with “I” used more often
