McDonaldization and De-McDonaldization
Activity : McDonalization & DeMcDonalization
Learn four dimensions of McDonalization & DeMcDonaldization of society.
Ask students to make a group with 4-5 classmates; and tell them to go outside of the classroom, but within the building, and take 4-5 photos that represent each dimension of McDonalization. Give about 15-20 minutes.
After taking these photos, give another 10-15 minutes for a quick group presentation. During this time, students are required to complete two tasks: 1) prepare for a short presentation (5 minutes) by sharing photos and explaining why each photo represents each dimension of McDonalization and 2) find one example showcasing DeMcDonalization.
