Transformation is New Perception

Assignment 1 “Intro”

Hi! My name is Mishal.

I feel as if I am sitting on the edge of a chair. I am definitely feeling very excited about this class, but at the same time, I am very nervous. My winter vacation was good. On New Year’s Eve, I tested positive for COVID. I was really sick, but it gave me the opportunity to relax and read books. I also had plenty of time to catch up on sleep and concentrate on my work. One of the most significant disadvantages of online classrooms is the loss of face-to-face interaction. There’s always concern about technological difficulties, and it’s easy to become distracted now that we’re all at home. Online learning boosts my anxiety like a vitamin. There’s also the likelihood that you won’t get help or support from your professors or even peers. Overall, I am looking forward to learning new things in this class and possibly making new friends.

For me, there’s nothing better than a good cup of coffee first thing in the morning. I can’t spend a day without drinking at least one cup. It’s an important component of my everyday routine. Even the smell of coffee has the potential to help me feel less worried. In my opinion, anything worthwhile starts with a good, strong cup of coffee.

    Mishal!
I am so glad to read your post. Not just because you are the first (and only!) student to figure out the first assignment, but because you are so generous with your words.
Okay, so I HAD to get a coffee this morning. It was definitely more like a life thing than an actual what-I-really-need-on-a-desert-island-to-survive thing.
    Or was it?
I went to “Coffee University” a long time ago. Maybe I will tell you about that experience some time in the future.
My anxiety is pretty high, to be honest. That said, I shoulder on. Anxiety can often be excitement in disguise. I will do my best to support you –and the whole class– this semester and make you feel safe to learn and do new things. I hope the class will come through and support me/you/each other as well.
I am so sorry to hear that you were sick!
Take care. Your wellbeing is the most important thing of all.

    Good Morning Mishal,
Thank you for having the courage to be the first post, I found that I was able to post knowing that I wasn’t the first, so I applaud you for your courage. I hope you are on track to recovering back to full health! In terms of Coffee, I also agree with your perspective. I find that I may have a mild caffeine addiction where I consume about 500mg or so of caffeine. If it’s not coffee, it’s Redbull and if it’s not either then it’s probably pre-workout. The FDA recommends a maximum of 400mg of caffeine per day (Coffee and Redbull having almost 80mg). Although I no longer drink Coffee or Redbull for the caffeine but simply for the taste, I do agree with it being a daily requirement!

    Best,
    Raj
