Definition: a great success or achievement

Found in:  “ The Story  of an Hour” by Kate Chopin

Passage: “ There  was a feverish triumph in her eyes , and she carried herself unwittingly like a goddess of Victory”

Now that I understand what the word means this passage is trying to  demonstrate the happiness that  her eye  had after regaining her freedom. Ms. Mallard felt victorious  of having her life to hrself once again.
