The poem “Halloween party” makes me feel like the person talking wasn’t the most popular kid but was trying to dress nice to impress their friends. They dressed like Dracula because how scary he is and how cool kids think he is. This person talked about all the steps they went through to feel confident about their custom. At this point we can assume this is a boy, when he got to school, he felt like the biggest fool because he didn’t feel so cool no more just the fact that his mom dropped him off. This shows that this is a kid in middle school. This person went to school thinking his outfit was cool until he showed up and the other kids stared at him like he was a freak. I like this poem because it gives off like a nerdy kid doing things to fit in, but it doesn’t always end up on the right side. I noticed how at the end of each line it has word that rhyme together. At the 3rd Stanza I like how the end of first and second sentence ended in school and fool to show how he felt when he got to school.

The poem “Halloween Party” by Keen Nesbitt makes me feel amused as the story I ended up finding funny. The speaker is a student within school and from who Nesbitt is dressing up as I can assume that the speaker is a male. The setting/context would regard Halloween as they’re about to have a Halloween party that Nesbitt is getting ready for. In this poem there is a narrative of the narrators story of what happened during October as he got ready for his Halloween party. As the narrator narrates the story he does in fact rhyme while also presenting an entertaining story. There isn’t much a theme presented in the poem as he’s really just rhyming his words while giving descriptive words of his costume. The structure of the poem would have to be in stanzas as the poem is basically just groups of lines built together.

The author name is Robert Frost, ” The Road Not Taken”. This poem has me feeling intrigued and want to know more because she did something and traveled a road that most people dont. This makes me just want to know more about the experiences she went through and what she seen on that journey. The setting she picked between two yellow diverged woods but wasnt really sure which road to travel really just by looking at it because they both quite looked the same. This poem was written kind of like a free write rather than a rhyme. And created a new paragraph every 5 lines. I notice he uses “and” alot in the poem to get across her point and what hes saying to the reader. He also uses things like metaphor and allusion to appeal to the reader and make her poem more interesting.

I chose “A Rhyme for Halloween” this poem makes me feel curious because of the descriptions of the person who appears and the dogs can see it also makes me curious to know that the writer is aware on how much people drink that night, but it also makes me feel excited for what’s to come the introduction of animals and the way that season changes too, the introduction of the animal lineup made me feel in tenderness for the, because I imagined the, as being cold and looking for refuge. The speaker is Maurice Kilwein, we know that they seem to enjoy that time of the year based on the way the opening is about them, enjoying the tree and knowing it’s a fall tree. The setting seems to be taking place around the fall and somewhere by nature but at a place in which many people are seen. In the poem they describe a sort of plot of what is expected to happen throughout the day/night in a chronological order and season change. The poem does rhyme consistently in almost ever line. Interestingly, the poem speaks on the love for nature and also life and death at the end.

Robert Frosts “The Road Not Taken” makes me feel anxious because of the way he goes about in choosing the right path. Throughout the poem Robert Frost utilizes metaphor frequently. In context Robert was faced with two options of paths to take, he wanted to take both paths but as he is just one person he decided to take  the path that was less traveled on but based on what he seen on the road he determined by visually looking at the quality of  the leaves but as it turned out both roads looked similar. After deciding not to go on the first road due to its worn status. He determines that the 2nd option is better by stating outright that the road looked as if it had not had many travelers, the speaker states that it was “grassy”. And he also said “it wanted wear” basically telling the reader indirectly that he will be walking on that road. The poem reflects that although the speaker has chosen his option to travel on that path towards the end of the poem he  shockingly makes it seem as if choosing that path would not have been much more different which can possibly relate to normal person life choices that if you are faced with two choices the outcomes wouldn’t be so much different. Frosts  poem is more perceived as a story from from the speakers narration. The speaker does rhyme in every other line in cinquain(prom structure5 sentence). The main theme of this poem would be life decisions, everyone can gain something important from this poem and the life lesson that whichever path you take as long as you keep going and not be fazed by the path you can succeed.

The poem “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost makes me feel a sense of accomplishment. In the beginning it seems a bit lonely and distant with how the roads stretch really far. Being the only traveler there the fork on the road is telling you to make a decision on your own. I’m not sure where the traveler is going and this reminds me of life and a person’s goals and ambitions. Often times you may think you know what you want to do but truth is you are only looking at an empty road ahead of you without much detail to tell you what to expect. This is a bit frustrating because you usually want things to be clear and easy or at least have the impression that they are. Having no guide to advise you to or any signposts leave the burden of the choice to you alone. I don’t know anything about the speaker however his tone gives me hope and makes me want to trust him. He says that he is apologetic and stands at the fork in the road for a while. This tells me that he knows his limits and likes to think carefully by observing before moving on. But at the same time he is curious and trying to explore the path that seems to be unused. After reading it I felt that is wasn’t as musical as the other two poems but it had more of a slow or broken rhyme. It was exactly like he said that he will be telling this poem with a sigh. This is perfect for this poem because after he takes the road, he won’t return and can only look back. As for the setting I can imagine it being fall since the author uses imagery to let us imagine for ourselves before those two roads with leaves on the ground and yellow wood which I imagined to be yellow or orange autumn leaves.
