Meaningful learning experience .

According to the article “The Meaningful Learning Cycle: How Learning Should Really Happen?” byGardner H. which, was published in 1983, describes that meaningful experiences are the most powerful learning points. People experience with all their senses, and the more senses being used, the bigger the experience would feel. In my opinion. everybody has their own meaningful learning experience. Meaningful experience has lots of definition, but one of them is the knowledge that we can put on practice.Moreover, everybody has different meaningful learning experiences. Some of them can be positive or negative, successful or disappointing, joyous or sad. In order to get maximum meaningful experience, it should relate to us, appeal to our interests, emotions, needs or motives

I have several meaningful experiences from which I learned a lot and gained maximum knowledge. My learning experience happened when I studied at university in Kazakhstan.  We had classes our professors were explaining and teaching us a lot. They were giving us lots of home works and projects. However, for me everything was difficult to understand because all of our classes were in English language. English language is not my native language and I had difficulties with understanding the full meaning of teacher’s words, tasks and projects. Moreover, I had lots of projects, imagine 6 classes and for each class we had one project to sum up will be 6 projects in one semester and lots of group works. Personally, I was struggling through hard times and all the time I was stressing out. For the last several years, while I was studying at university my Intellectual home was library. Honestly, that time I loved library because it has magic atmosphere which make you study. At library I was reading a lot of books and learning new words to enrich my vocabulary because that time my goal was to remove my language barrier and be fluent in English language.

My meaningful learning experience happened when during the class our teacher gave us group work to discuss one topic. When I discussed with my group mates, I understand better and deepen into everything. Till nowadays I have language barrier and I have to work a lot on my speaking and writing skills.

In conclusion, this semester is my first at City Tech College, and I love how our professor lectures us and discuss with us everything and convey the main idea of the article smoothly. Also, I think that during discussion of articles and our home works such as writing a lot of essays and summaries will improve my English and this give me meaningful learning experience.
