  1. Chapter four started out just like the other chapter did as if it’s a whole new story which I like since it keeps things fresh. But this chapter in particular revolves around a very sensitive topic for Yunior. The main subject at hand is Yunior’s father and how he left when he was still a child around nine years ago. His father had gone to the United States seeking wealth and some day would bring his family over with him. But this wasn’t the case for Yunior and his family since his father hadn’t spoken to them since. This left his mother utterly broken, from all the false promises of him coming back home and the stress of working a 12 hour job to keep her family afloat. However the most interesting part for me was when Rafa(Yunior’s brother) and Yunior was exhibiting their fantasy of how their father would return if he ever would.

The fifth chapter revolves around Yunior and his old friend Beto. Beto was about to start attending his first year of college and was majoring in business of which he was nervous about. The author also went in detail about the things Beto and Yunior would do when they went “shopping” at the mall. However the climax of their was when Beto played his card on Yunior and tried to seduce him.The chapter also talked about Yunior’s past time, how he likes to swim at the beach with his friends younger brothers and or sisters since they were the ones who attended the high school Yunior was attending at the time. These people were also the ones who would buy drugs from Yunior which he brought up while riding the city bus with his mom. Yunior’s dad was also mentioned in this chapter also but was majorly criticized by his actions in Florida with another woman. His mother still for some unknown reason still wanna be with Yunior’s father and would even go as far to hide behind his back to talk to him while trying to use the refrigerator to mask her voice. However the most interesting part about this chapter was that Rafa was never mentioned in this part of the story at all.

  2. In the Aurora chapter, this chapter is all based on Yunior’s girlfriend who is Aurora. Aurora is a girl with drug problems. She leads a very difficult life for the same. This happens more or less at the age of 15 years of Yunior. He lived in a neighborhood where the sale of drugs exists and also the exchange of it the bad influence of the place is very bad. The experiences they live with their friend are heartbreaking as they get high and they are children who do not know what they want for life not to have a father figure that teaches them the good or the limits of their actions. In Chapter 5, Enduring is when Yunior is 9 years old in this chapter he delays time and shows us the experiences of his childhood when he suffered from his father’s abandonment. This is the saddest chapter for me since he basically talks about the experience he had with his father. The story is really sad since her mother receives the note of her husband who will return. Yunior’s mother goes out of her way to get Yunior and her brother’s new clothes, get food eh invite acquaintances to receive it, the worst is yet to come since Yunior’s father never shows up is something so sad because he doesn’t I speak from the beginning with the truth that I had no interest because I want to make them ill and then leave them with everything ready is something that should hurt a lot something that one can never forget. The next chapter called Drown is when Yunior is in high school. In this chapter, his friend Beto appears, who may be gay. Beto is in his first year of college. He was one of the main leaders in leading Yunior to bad steps. Yunior’s father was in Florida with another woman but is still looking for his mother to ask for money. Many times one as a teenager does not know what one wants and one thinks that everything that one does is right, the teenagers tend to experience everything. So they manage to see what they like and what they don’t. It can be a good thing since many mature by everything that happens but many do not and tend to undress more.
