Land Acknowledgement
We acknowledge that CityTech is located in Lenapehoking, the traditional ancestral homelands of the Munsee Lenape Indigenous peoples and that our diverse college community benefits from occupying this location.
You can learn more about the Lenape peoples and Lenapehoking in many places:
- here is an informative video from the New York Public Library that includes both modern and historic perspectives of Lenape people,
- here is a workbook from the Brooklyn Public Library that features modern questions about historic documents.
Community Agreement
Our class’s community agreement is borrowed from Professor Federico Ardila–Mantilla class’s community agreement appearing here. Our community agreement may be revised, updated, or improved throughout the semester to suit our needs based on input from the members of our community.
This course aims to offer a joyful, meaningful, and empowering experience to every participant; we will build that rich experience together by devoting our strongest available effort to this class. You will be challenged and supported. Please be prepared to take an active, critical, patient, and generous role in your own learning and that of your classmates.

- Arrive at class on time and prepared,
- Read the textbook,
- Complete your homework throughout the week, not at the last minute,
- Figure out what your questions are and ask them, and
