My mathematician’s name is Georgia Sandoval.and her tribe is an engineer at intel. She is a Diné woman. Georgia Sandoval is an opposition supporter protesting outside the parliament building, as deputies vote to elect a new president, Tbilisi, Georgia as of December 14, 2024 (Georgia Sandoval 2024). But she does work at Intel, an engineering company. Georgia Sandoval studies in Cloud and Enterprise Solutions at Intel. Georgia Sandoval is a Diné woman from the Navajo Nation in Northern Arizona. She is a very caring person always looking out for others. This mathematician stood out to me because of a few things really. First it’s her biology that caught my attention about how she is still working at her job with discrimination going around. Finally, the reason why she stands out is she reminds me sometimes because of how you hide your identity to fit in but for me I hide my emotions and instead of fitting in I slowly detach apart so that it really made me talk about her.

Math Department Final Exam Absences Policy
From a memo to instructors:
F, WU GRADE
- The cleanest way to handle students who miss the final exam is to simply compute the grade with a zero for the final. In all likelihood, the final letter grade will be F or WU – (if student stops attending after December 13).
INC GRADE
- An INC grade prevents students from registering for any class with the prerequisite of the MAT class in question and has been more difficult to manage in recent semesters.
- Only if a student is BOTH passing AND you receive approved documentation, are they eligible for a makeup final conducted approximately two weeks prior to the start of the Fall semester.
ALL (3) CRITERIA MUST BE MET FOR MAKEUP FINAL:
- Student PASSING the course (D or higher)
- DOCUMENTATION received by YOU for a valid excuse such as:
- Serious Illness *Requires Pre-Approval from John Currie; student must submit medical documentation to John Currie, (Student Accessibility Director) who in turn must inform YOU if approved – Only then may you submit this form. (john.currie37@citytech.cuny.edu; L-237)
- Jury Duty (Summons) *Please present to Student Accessibility (see above)
- Death in the Family (Bereavement) *Please present documentation to Student Affairs N325.
- TRAVELING IS NOT AN EXCUSE
- After verifying documentation, complete a MAKEUP APPROVAL FORM and upload an “Incomplete Resolution Plan” form (required if giving INC grade) at the end of the makeup approval form.
I will be focusing on Dr. Nick Castro, he was born and raised in Southern California’s San Fernando Valley just north of Los Angeles. He attended the LA Community Colleges before transferring to Cal State University Northridge. He is very inspiring to me because of how he teaches other students and joining various programs to help develop knowledge while at the same time giving knowledge to his students. According to Dr. Nick Castro, “He believes that one’s own experiences help shape who they are and can create unique perspectives which can change and improve our understanding of the world.” (Lathisms 2024) This is a very powerful sentence because knowledge is power and it really helps create the perspective of understanding the world and changing the aspects of how you would see the world. Therefore Dr. Nick Castro has inspired me to do the same by improving how I see the world and to improve on the understanding of the world not as one object or thing but as a whole.
