Yea…My name is Christ-Brian Amedjonekou but you can refer to me with just “Chris”. It’ll be easier for all of us.

What’s my major?

Well I just recently transferred to the school. Last semester was my first semester here. At my other schools I was a computer science major with a minor in math. But currently I’m just an Applied Math major with a concentration in information sciences.

How did I get into math/computers?

Honestly, it was because of movies and anime. Live Free Die Hard was one of them and Ghost in the Shell is the other. But they’re really just some of the media involving technology that I like. Cyber Punk is one of my favorite genres. I’ve always messed with computers and somehow have been good at math although I didn’t realize that I liked it till recently. They’re really the only academic subjects that can keep engaged and interested but like all things, it depends, so don’t hold me to it. But for the most part it’s true. I like how resourceful you can be when you have prerequisite knowledge of processes and how they work.

What am I gonna do when I leave City Tech?

I’m trying to figure that right now actually. Long term? The idea is that I’ll do research in A.I. development, Robotics, and most likely security. Thank Ghost in the Shell for that. But I don’t really want to do it for an organization or company really. I rather have an environment similar to DefCon, a collective of some sort. But maybe they’re funded by major companies? I don’t really know. I guess I’ll have to figure that out. Bottom line I’m looking to be independent mostly collaborating with other people and groups but not super large companies. Short term? Trying to figure out how to make the long term possible.

What I hope to get out of this course? (You don’t mean which grade I want!)

An “A”, seriously <insert emoji>. Can I use emojis? Anyways from what I understand Discrete Mathematics focuses on the building blocks and processes that make maths like algebra, and I guess Calculus and Geometry, work. I equate it to how assembly acts as the middle man between higher programming languages and machine code. But maybe I’m wrong. Either way I’m interested in seeing how this study of discrete math relates to other topics I’m interested in, and the world in general. I already can see with logic that it fits in with computers, electronics, probability.

Other interests/hobbies I have?

My hobbies include working out, playing tennis, basketball, learning how to skateboard and play bass. I hear that people who are good at math are also good with music, so I want to give it a try. Plus I’d like to live out my delusions of being a sick bassist in a band. I also like getting tattoos and piercings, and I game sometimes but only when I’m bored and not doing the other things. OH, and I like to make and sell glass bongs. Works of art really. (That last part’s a joke.)

side note: This last part sounds like one of those weird dating profiles you see in the commercials. Regardless nice to meet you all and I want to wish everybody luck during the semester. Peace.
