Dialogue 3:
(Lights Brighten)
(Curtains Rise)
A couple enjoying a relaxing day under the sun on the beach.
The man is next to the woman.
(The man begins to ask a question)
???: Hey Jane?
Jane(Raisin her eyebrow): Yes Alex?
Alex: Why are ghosts bad liars?
Jane(Under her breath, with a look of discontent): …Not this again.
Alex(Excitedly): Because you can see right through them.
Jae(Stare at Alex with a blank face)
Alex(sheepishly grins)
(Divorce attorney enters the right stage)
(Lights dim)
(Papers can be heard shuffling as a man weeps)
(Curtains close)
Dialogue 2:
(Lights dim)
(Curtains open)
Zaire is sitting at his table with his phone.
Zaire(with a sly grin as he types): Happy Birthday Cuzzo, you’re mad old now.
Cuzzo Ant(typing while holding his butt so it doesn’t fall off): Haha LMBO
Cuzzo Ant(With a leaming smile): Thanks, even though I am only 1 year older than you, i appreciate it.
Zaire: No problem old man, I’ll see you at the party later.
Zaire: Peace!!
Zaire gets up, puts his phone and his pocket, and walks out of the room
(Exits left stage)
Cuzzo Ant: Peace!!
(Exits right stage)
I like the first dialogue. It included a funny joke, and the writer used the stage directions to indicate the gestures, facial expressions of the speaker, which made the whole dialogue even more interesting.
The first dialogue is hilarious but unfortunate. You hate to see someone do it to themselves like that 🙁
