The author is telling her story based on how hard her life has been. She is a woman writer, a college teacher and she is also married to a writer. She considers teaching to be a quite steady job, but she enjoys writing better. She is more successful than her husband and he feels some kind of way about that. I enjoyed the story because many couples have the same issue which I believe is mostly cause by the male ego. That mentality that woman should play a smaller role in the home or earn less. It’s a toxic way of thinking that leads to toxic relationships. She tried her best to hang on, I guess for her daughter, and I respect her for that. She is a dreamer, and she has a lot of ambitions. In addition of taking care of the child, she has to deal with abuse from her husband and I think that she deserved better. Her husband’s insecurity has been problematic to the family and it could have been worse. He is too Jealous of her and could have been a much serious treat. One question I have is why did she take so long to take legal action. This is a sad story, but I’m happy that she stood strong and still ready to overcome life obstacles.

Office Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM. I’ll be available through Zoom and will send an invitation via email that you should keep all semester. Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!
