Ann Patchettā€™s Truth & Beauty is a book I enjoy so far. Her writing is very descriptive. Even from the beginning with riding on the road trip to her sister, Tina. Patchett wrote of the chocolate M&Ms they ate while driving through the beautiful open road of Tennessee. Thatā€™s what stuck to me, her ability to describe her story and characters well. Lucyā€™s character was well written, but it struck me odd that she was one of the cool kids. She was ā€œmuch too cool for the likes of meā€ as the narrator put it. I just thought Lucy would have been more friendly off the bat. Nonetheless, like the people in the book, Lucy grew on me as I read on.
