Patchett was capable of making the readers picture her story as it was being told , it was very easy to use your imagination as a reader and create the characters she was describing in her story. I liked how she made her characters strong young women. Lucy amazed me the way she looked at her glass being half full and did not allow her physical appearance to control what she can and cannot do in life. My question is, if she saw her friend Lucy going down a hurtful path, why didn’t she try harder to prevent it? Or did she already know that Lucy is so hopelessly in love that it did not make sense to even try?

Office Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM. I’ll be available through Zoom and will send an invitation via email that you should keep all semester. Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!
