After reading the first chapter of Truth and Beauty by Ann Patchett’s. What I immediately enjoyed about her work was the way that she wrote. There is a specific way in how she writes and that right away caught my attention. The storyline of Truth and Beauty was also really captivating right from the start. It made me interested in wanting to find out more and read more about the story. I also liked the way the author dove in and gave us all those details to better understand the character and what is happening in the story. A question that I have is what inspired her to write that story? Was it based on real life or was it made up?

Office Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM. I’ll be available through Zoom and will send an invitation via email that you should keep all semester. Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!
