After reading the first chapter of The Water Dancer, it had a plot where you wanted more based on what was being discussed in such a small sample of the story. I’m not sure how long the entire story is from the full novel but it did intrigue me a bit. I’m not sure how the story would change from here on out. The topics of slavery come up in this reading so I assume the setting took place a few centuries ago. I honestly wouldn’t mind reading entire story if I knew where to get the book. If this is like the tip of an iceberg of the plot, then I hope the rest of it gets better with each chapter. Coates did a nice job with this but I just wish there was more to read overall from this small snippet.
