During the summer of 2020, I had the biggest change in a long time that made me better myself. Right before the pandemic had gotten bad and we went into lockdown, my relationship ended due to mental health concerns on both ends. I still of course had much love for this person and vise versa, but I understood this was something necessary for growth and bettering of each other. In April of that year I decided to really focus on my health since it was getting bad. I was very overweight and I wanted to change it so I chose to start a heavy workout routine and change in diet. I started slow and was very strict with what foods I consumed and in a month i dropped 25lbs. The summer went on and I picked up my workout routine by adding more and since I was now used to my healthy diet, it made my body used to eating less but a good healthy amount of food. By the end of summertime I dropped another 25lbs leaving me at the healthy and goal weight I hoped to be at. Words cannot describe how happy and proud I felt of myself during that time. That year was also the year I started socializing more and left the shy side of me behind. I met a lot of great people and even made new friendships that are getting stronger and stronger to this day. I also cut my hair and decided to grow it out to have healthier curls since I always had dead ugly curls. With a bunch of self reflecting as well, my mental became way better than prior to the lockdown. The relationship I had ended up working out again since we both got to better ourselves and we now both help each other out a ton and are growing more day by day. Overall, 2020 was a crazy year in general but it was a year of true and healthy change for me.
