One thing I enjoyed while reading Gurba’s work is the switch from English to Spanish. I like how she sounds very carefree in how she choses to describe how she feels about this author’s work. She doesn’t hold back on her truth about this piece especially since it is something that should be addressed regarding the authors work. She uses a lot of Spanish slang which makes it more enjoyable to read. I also enjoyed how although she gave a harsh critique on this author’s work, she also gave some room for improvement by providing resources to help educate herself about the topic at hand which is Mexican-American culture.
