One of the most impactful friendships that I have sustained over the course of life was with my current best friend of over a decade. We meet in elementary school when we were in the same 5th grade class, when both of our mothers were talking to one another while they were picking us up to go to our respective homes.
After this day, both him and his mom came over to my house which is located near to the elementary school that we both used to go to and have become close ever since. We talked everyday in school, at recess, lunch, sometimes in class etc. He came over to my house a lot of times during the school year to finish some homework and projects we needed to get done.
We were fortunate to be in the same middle school after we graduated which also added to the bond that we shared overtime. Some of the things that we were able to do was play basketball with one another and play video games from time to time when we didn’t have class work to do.
Even though we never went to the same high school or college we still talked at a consistent basis up to this point. Without him, I wouldn’t of been able to gain experiences in the outside world or be willing to go outside as much. I appreciate him being there for me in my time of need and vice versa for him.
