I felt that my research was challenging because the subject of healthcare was really broad. I also had trouble defining my research question because the scope was really broad. I knew I wanted to write about healthcare but I didn’t know what specifically I wanted. I wanted to write about possible solutions for lowering healthcare but I felt that it would have driven me away from my topic of interest. Therefore I decided it would be best to talk about why healthcare is so expensive and how does it differ from other countries. I feel that in the future I would need to spend a bit longer to think of question that isn’t too broad but still fits my agenda on what I’m trying to accomplish from the assignment. The research itself wasn’t challenging but defining what I could do with that research definitely was. Another thing that really surprised me was how much more I learned than what I had originally expected. In a way it made me feel a bit more upset with the current systems in place. Healthcare is a racket in my honest opinion and conducting this research has made me slightly more bitter.

Class Meetings & Times: in person Mondays and Wednesdays, 2:30 – 3:45 PM in Namm 523A
Office Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12 – 1:30 PM. I’ll be available through Zoom and will send an invitation via email that you should keep all semester. Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance via email. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!
