In this project we learned about 3 diminutional shapes; how to bring depth to flat shapes and using adobe illustrator tools for a final form and space composition.
First, we started by doing sketches to discover how 3D shapes are formed using online resources. Then, we worked in Adobe Illustrator and created 3D forms by using the 3d Effect- extrude and revolve. Finally, knowing how to work with 3d forms in AI we used design principles like scale, repetition, hierarchy, contrast, variation.. to create a composition.
I am happy in this project we got to work on adobe illustrator and the 3d effect. I think there is so much we can do with this tool. Plus, including the design principles in the composition makes me think how not only 3D forms give can give the space feeling but it is a combination of all designs principles too. For example, repetition and scale give that feeling of flowing and going deep in space. It was nice and fun to see this project’s compositions because we put in practice all we’ve been learning. So, while I was looking at my classmates compositions and mine I wasn’t one enjoying it but thinking about how they created it and how all together ended up as a nice composition.
