Week 3

To start off, Huckleberry Finn is poor with a drunker bum for a father and something I found interesting was in chapter 5. Tom Sawyer is a friend of Finn and he found a robber stash of gold and gave some to his friend Finn now they got caught and did not try to admit what they did because they believe it will get things worse. For example “Looky here—mind how you talk to me; I’m a-standing about all I can stand now—so don’t gimme no sass. I’ve been in town two days, and I hain’t heard nothing but about you bein’ rich. I heard about it away down the river, too. That’s why I come. You git me that money tomorrow—I want it.” “I hain’t got no money.” “It’s a lie. Judge Thatcher’s got it. You git it. I want it.” “I hain’t got no money, I tell you. You ask Judge Thatcher; he’ll tell you the same.” This demonstrates that they were hiding information to not reveal what they have done and keep it all to try to become rich in an easy way for better status.

Discussion

To start off, what I have learned about the reading is that many African Americans started to get more rights during 1869 and stopped discrimination. An important quote I found was ” as Hiram Revels became the first African American to serve in the U.S. Senate. Revels was an educator and minister, who had helped form regiments of African American soldiers during the Civil War.” This shows that during the Civil War, the Senate Revels was still helping the African American soldiers by educating them while he was serving the Mississippi State and was able to fill a vacant seat in the US Senate.

Introduction

Hello everyone! my name is Raynel Fabre and I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic I am 20 years old. Some of my hobbies that really like to do is playing instruments like the piano and violin. I also like to do coding and play a lot of video games. I am very competitive when it comes to COD and Fortnite. Some of my interest is learning music and also learning how to code and becoming a software engineer in the future. This is my third year of college and I am hoping I can graduate on time and keep meeting new people throughout my journey.

The picture that is shown is one of the most important and significant instruments to me because this is where I let myself out and enjoy every second of my life. The piano has impacted me in a huge way because every time I had a certain feeling when it comes to anger, sad, upset people were able to hear it from my playing and reached out to me to make sure I am in a good mindset to grow and become a better person. This instrument was hard to get used to because you need to control a certain amount of speed depending on the song you want to play and need to make sure you exercise with your fingers to always maintain a fast speed.
