My First Project

 

 

My first project was to design a banner for the company website. They gave me the freedom to be creative from the get-go and it gave me a lot of confidence going in, especially since it’s not something I have personally done many times. Knowing that banner designs are a little difficult because you only have so much space, it took a lot of planning and sketching which I did on Procreate. After in which I also used Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to finalize and clean up the drafts I made on Procreate. Which is entirely new for me considering prior to this semester I wasn’t even comfortable using procreate. But with all the practice I have been able to get working for this organization, it has become a very important part of my design process.

Pertaining to the banner, I wanted to keep some aspects from the previous banner design apparent in my design to give it some familiarity and add some simple vector images to help guide the viewer.  And of course, after I finished mapping out my design, I took it to Illustrator to finish the design. After the first draft I sent to my supervisor the only feedback I got was to make the gift box lighter. Truthfully, I can say I was happy with my first piece of work working at my internship as my supervisor also stressed their appreciation as well.
