How I obtained the Job

In the first portion of the semester one of the things I focused on was updating my resume and portfolio. When I found it was sufficient and showed it to my professor for confirmation, she helped me out a lot and ended up recommending me to a non-profit organization to intern for. I contacted them and had a short interview, and I have been working from home since. It’s a new experience for me since I have never worked from home but nevertheless it’s an experience I will never forget. Having to be more alert at all times to see if I have any notifications and trying to keep up to date on all tasks.

Working at this Internship made me go about working in a different process then I’m used too which was a challenge I had to overcome, but I do feel like attending online classes actually prepared me quite well. Though it was something I was a little worried about at first, I think I took advantage of the situation at hand and feel very comfortable in this work setting. Another challenge I had also had to overcome was adjusting to the increased output of work, it was definitely a different pace. So far, I can say I have adjusted well and am making the most of this opportunity working with this organization. The organization I am interning for is located in Bryan Park thought I have yet to visit their place of operation, but that’s something on my bucket list for get done before this semester ends considering I do work from home, but it would be nice to mingle and build more relationships in person.
